…la la la It’s a Beautiful Morning! (Sing with me!)
Hello Beautiful day! It was so nice to greet you this morning with open arms and to feel your warm and loving embrace! I know, I know, day after day, you always take the time to greet anyone and everyone that is willing to share in your joy.
Today, I am glad I rose to share it with you. What a great sunrise! Today I took time for myself: Woke up to a warm embrace from my husband (Yes, I am a Lucky gal) woke the kids up with love, made a hot cup of tea, watched the sunrise with my hubby, did a 20 minute Kundalini Yoga warmup, and got ready for another exciting day!
I know everyday we find ourselves rushing to this and rushing to that, but I am so very thankful that in this New year, we can make resolutions to change any habits we deem unnecessary and replace them with new and productive habits that we feel will add to a happy, healthy and successful life. (and to be honest, if you really think about it, we are given this chance everyday. As the sun rises, you are given a new day to make of it, as you wish…be a leader or be lead…the choice is yours)
This afternoon, I wanted to send out a loving and warm embrace to all of you. I wanted you to know that you are very much appreciated and loved (even if we have just met, or don’t really know each other at all.) I know that you are an amazing individual and that you are capable of amazing and wonderful things. (That’s right, Do you feel the big hug?)
Ok, now it’s time for SHOW & TELL (Yep! It’s NEW for 2011:
This morning as I stated, I was blessed to have enjoyed the beautiful morning by watching the sun rise. It was actually pretty quick, which was nice due to the brisk breeze that was cooling off my tea (which started off hot). It was also nice for me to see the birds chirping and the bunnies hopping around. I realized at that moment, that sometimes in our daily routines, we can often get caught up in the speed of how quick things happen, how fast we want to get to work or to be at our next appointment, how fast we want the work day to be over or how fast we want our “to do” list to be done. But, in this rush to get through each day, we can also find ourselves complaining at the “loss” of “time”, or how “fast” our kids are growing up or that infamous quote “if I only had enough time for…” comes out of our mouths. I agree, I am guilty of all of them too.
However, today I was amazed at how much I could get done, if I simply just made TIME on my side, rather than making TIME my enemy. FIRST: I took time for my family and myself before anything else (Yep, before checking my cell phone, texts, FB and even this posting), I took time to bless the world and my surroundings, to give thanks and appreciation for the many hidden blessings that we may not always take time to really ponder the amazing and wonderful miracles of our common life and I have to say…..it was WONDERFUL, BREATHE TAKING AND REFRESHING!!
So I wanted to share a few of them with you in my “Show and Tell” section of my note. I hope that as you read this you too will count the many blessings and miracles that you have around you right now. (maybe a quick thanks for the device you are reading this from:)
While watching the sun rise, I saw how fast it was rising and realized if it was doing that, then our earth was moving super fast…(FACT: The rotational speed of the Earth at the equator is about 1,038 miles per hour.) WOW, I thought, then I pondered the blessing that my heart beats without any thought on my conscious part and my breathe and body functions are all included on the unconscious “TO DO” list. They just do what I need them to do! (Fact: Your healthy heart beats 70 to 90 times in a minute, so in the 3 minutes it took you to read this, your heart has beaten over 210 times)
So the simple fact was clear to me today: When I find my mind starting to wonder off the course of thankfulness and I find it looking at any lack (Like bills, or to do’s, or changes I wish took effect yesterday) I have to immediately pull the leash on my puppy-mind (like you do when you are training your puppy to walk with you) and remind myself of all of the blessings I DO have and all these hidden miracles that take place whether I chose to take time for them or not, like the sunrise, sunset, my breath and my beating heart.
A friend sent this to me on Monday: “It is when you no longer feel the need for money that money will come. The feeling of needing money comes from the thought that you don’t have enough, and so you continue to create not having enough money.
You are always creating, and when it comes to money, you are either creating the lack of it or the abundance of it.”
So with that said, I pray that all of you have great health and wealth in this New Year and that you take time to create what you want out of life and your experiences.
